Step 8: Stroke Development
$105 for 6 Lessons / Length of each lesson: 30min
‘Step 8’ is a class designed for your “swimming star!” Now that your child is able to swim the width of the pool independently, they are now ready to build endurance.
The Step 8 curriculum introduces stroke development in order to prepare your child for competitive swimming, or just strong swim skills for life. While continuing to perfect their freestyle stroke, instructors will also introduce your child to the backstroke, breaststroke and the survival swim.
Fun and interactive dive games will be played in order to help lengthen breath control. Some of these games include Dolphin Rescue, Treasure Hunt, and Hoop Races. Students will also practice endurance swims utilizing the full length of a 25-meter lane. “Safety” continues to be a focus in this class as the students are taught how to tread water and then move to a floating/resting position, ultimately rolling over and swimming to the side of the pool.
Requirements: Completion of Step 7 or must pass a swim test.
Group lessons are 30 minute classes with a 5:1 ratio. Students are put into lessons according to age and ability. The small class size creates a structured, positive and personal environment for your child to learn.
Lessons include the option to add-on unlimited ‘Splash Pool Play’ for $5/day!
